Screaming driver should be ashamed of behavior
To whom it may concern:
Disabilities comes in all forms and age brackets
This is an open letter to the woman who was screaming and shaking her fist at my daughter in the Wal-Mart parking lot the day after Thanksgiving. She had just pulled into a handicapped parking spot that apparently you thought you had some right to.
You screamed at her that she had no right to park there and even after she showed you her handicapped place card you accused her of using someone else's. My daughter rolled her window up and tried to ignore you even as you continued to rant and sit in your car waiting for her to move.
Too bad you didn't stick around long enough to watch her pull her little boy's wheelchair out of the back end of the car.
Too bad you didn't watch as she took special care to place each leg and arm in the straps so he could ride around the store and watch as other children skipped up and down the aisles while their parents looked for bargains.
Too bad you didn't watch her as she struggled to push the wheelchair and at the same time pull a cart behind her so she might find a bit of Christmas magic.
I am praying that you see this letter and recognize yourself and are ashamed of your behavior.
Thank God that my daughter is so mature and decided that you weren't worth the effort. The next time you might not be so lucky. Please be aware that there are many parents in this area who have disabled children. Not all handicapped people are elderly and neither were you.
