Edward M. Moe, 87
Edward M. Moe, 87, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2008, at his apartment at Alpine Vista in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Edward married his wife, Eileen, on Aug. 24, 1942, in Las Vegas, and left shortly thereafter to proudly serve our country during World War II. He was stationed in New Guinea.
Known as Ed, he and his wife raised five children.
Ed had many occupations but primarily was in construction and worked on almost every dam in the Pacific Northwest as a heavy equipment operator and a master mechanic.
Ed also worked on the Alaskan pipeline before he retired to Post Falls, Idaho.
Ed's love of fishing and hunting made for some very interesting stories, which he shared and relived many times.
He had a heart bigger than Texas and the love he had for his family was indescribable.
He was a one-of-a-kind man and will be missed by all who knew him and especially missed by the ones who loved him so dearly.
Edward is survived by his five children, Marvin Moe (Diane) of Libby, Mont., Sandra Wilkinson (Bert) of Sandpoint, Dianne Hope of Twisp, Wash., Gary Moe of Yuma, Ariz., and Karol Moe of Montana; a sister, Carmen Yockey (Wayne) of Moses Lake, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandson and a nephew.
Edward was predeceased in death by his wife of 57 years, Eileen.
Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Services in Sandpoint and English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
A memorial service and interment will be held for family and friends at a later date.
