District owes residents honesty and fairness

I do not agree with passing another supplement levy and I think that we should vote no on it. Our taxes have already gone up enough and the way our economy is heading I do not feel that it is in our best interest to pass another levy. I also do not feel that they are being honest with how things are run in some of our area schools, it is stated in the Bee (Nov. 19) that there are two principal having to share four different schools and how there is not enough money for counselors and there are schools without nurses.

It is funny to me when can you come out to Northside Elementary, which is sharing a principal with Sagle Elementary because there is no money. Yet they can still hire full-time employees who also get full-time medical benefits and are not teachers to help in our classrooms and who knows what but they have to share a principal makes you wonder.

I also think it is funny to say that our schools have no money yet they can take three buses and fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders and all school employees and their children to see the Phantom of the Opera in Spokane. Please tell me how and what the Phantom of the Opera has to do with our schools?  I also get a kick out of some of our buses are only caring anywhere for two to four children but yet it takes five buses to take them home. I got the excuse that there are a lot of children who are in sports so the buses are not full. So I ask this why not take one or two buses and yes it may take longer to get home, but it is not wasting gas and us having to pay for bus drivers then maybe more money can go into the schools.

One of my children is home schooled this year due to how things are run in our schools. I think that more parents and more people in our community really need to take a harder look at things before you make the choice to vote to pass this levy in February. I think that the school district needs to be more honest with where our taxes are going. I voted NO on the last one and will vote no again.
