First and foremost, let us be Americans

Now that the nation has elected a black president, do you suppose we can finally dispense with the hyphenated Black-American, the Black Congressional Caucus, the NAACP, Affirmative Action and all the organized groups with black as part of their identification? Maybe now they can begin to think of themselves as Americans.
