Dean Alvero Smith

| December 13, 2008 8:00 PM

Dean Alvero Smith passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008.

Born Nov. 26, 1928, in Glendale, Calif., he lived between Sandpoint, Idaho, and Skagit County, Wash., over the last 17 years.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kendra of Burlington, Wash., and Wendy of Aspen, Colo.; five grandchildren Taggart, Kolby, Keegan, Danon and Loui; and his sister Janis Allebrand of Palm Desert, Calif.

He was known for the enthusiasm in the way he lived each day of his life, his smile, his gentlemanliness, his daily gratitude and his love for his daughters, grandchildren and friends.

He loved the Rocky Mountains, Sandpoint and Skagit Valley as well as lattes.

He served in World War II  after lying about his age because he thought it was the right thing to do to serve his county. A very special place in his heart went to the Coldwater crew, the Bonner General Hospital oncology group and, of course, Rita Fahey. We will miss him very much.

Arrangements are pending.
