Clagstone Meadows violates planning rules
Stimson Lumber Company and Bonner County will violate Idaho Statute 67-6502 "Local Land Use Planning" if Clagstone Meadows is created.
Idaho law requires that public and private land use must meet 12 requirements "to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the people", including: Making accommodations for low-cost housing, protecting the rivers and lakes from over-development and damage to our air and water sources, and to use those lands for agriculture and solar and wind energy development to ensure that the economy is protected.
The national and local trend is toward food production and agriculture, and toward clean energy development. It is not toward more luxury golf resorts for the very wealthy people among us to have second and third homes. Property rights law does not protect irresponsible and careless mega-planned communities at the expense of best-use practices for open and limited land.
