Jeremy Ray 'Jay' Witt, 37

Jeremy Ray "Jay" Witt, 37, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Sunday evening, Dec. 14, 2008.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, in the Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene on Highway 95 North of Sandpoint. The pastors of the Church of the Nazarene will be officiating.

Jeremy was born in Sandpoint on March 11, 1971, the son of Gary and Candy Witt. He grew up in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, graduating from Bonners Ferry High School in 1989. He attended North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and served with the U.S. Army during peacetime.

In 1998, he moved to Sandpoint and married Kathleen Maisel on Dec. 18, 1999.

Jay worked for the Unicep Corporation and was currently employed by Litehouse Custom Printing.

Jay was a member of the Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, and participating in all outdoor activities and sports.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his sons, Micheal Witt of Sandpoint and Mason Witt of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; his father, Gary Witt of Green River, Wyo.; his mother, Candy Smith of Bonners Ferry; his grandmothers, Joyce Gross of Bonners Ferry and Luella Witt of Boise, Idaho; his brother, Wayne Witt of Kennewick, Wash.,; his sister, Denise Koberstein of  Pomeroy, Wash.;  and his in-laws, Rod and Margaret Maisel of Sandpoint. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers.
