Let's all be careful this winter

You killed me today.

You were driving a maroon, late-model BMW at far above a sustainable speed given the road and weather conditions.

As always, I looked carefully for oncoming traffic before pulling onto the highway but the first glimpse of you was out of the swirling snow in my rear-view mirror as you locked up  your brakes in a last-ditch effort to avoid rear-ending me.

You took your passenger with us.

The above incident was so very nearly not fiction.

Please, let's be careful and prudent in these winter conditions.
