Edwards is a true advocate, populist

| February 2, 2008 8:00 PM

Over the past several weeks the media has bombarded us with polls that show Senator Clinton leading the Democratic Presidential nomination race. Well I thnk that the results of the first primaries and caucuses have given lie to the inevitability of her inaugeration. On Jan. 28, another heavy blow was dealt to her campaign when the entire Kennedy Clan threw their support behind Sen. Obama.

The foregone conclusion of her inevitable win has been dashed by this endorsement. Once again Idaho can have a real voice in who becomes our next president.

Come "Super Duper Tuesday" Idaho, and twenty plus other states, will be selecting delegates that can have a real impact on who becomes the nominee of the Democratic Party in the November election. I have watched with great interest (some might call it obsessive) the recent debates and have come to the following conclusion. My vote and support will go to John Edwards.

Why him? Well he said it himself the other night when Clinton and Obama were acting like middle school bullys, he represents "the adult wing of the Democratic Party." This country needs some one that is both an adult and a fighter. He has devoted his public life to ensuring that there is a level playing field for all Americans. He is a true "Populist", willing to make real sacrifices for the downtrodden and overlooked people of this nation.

As a veteran I was most impressed by his zeal in advocating for those that have worn the uniform of this country. He wants to provide the services that those veterans have earned and were promised. There are more reasons but there are space limitations. My vote goes to Edwards on Feb. 5 for an America that looks more like we pretend it is.
