Edwards is still the best person for the job

| February 2, 2008 8:00 PM

For the last eight years, I have felt that America and its people are not as good as we can be. I believe in the progressive movements and ideas that freed the slaves, gave women the right to vote, created fair and safe working conditions, sustained us during the Great Depression, provided benefits to our World War II veterans, ensured equal public education for our children, and guaranteed civil rights for all.

All of these helped to create a strong middle class in America, and justice, health, happiness and the success of common Americans, were values we accepted for ourselves and our children. As a child of the sixties and seventies, I always felt a personal and shared striving for improvement - that things could be better; that as Americans, we would always seek the best in ourselves and our country.

I will be caucusing for John Edwards because he has shown me he is the person who will lead us to be our best. He is the candidate who has spent the most time talking to Americans over the past four years, and has developed plans, based on our values, for the future of the United States. Please join me at the Panida Theater at 6 p.m. on Feb. 5.
