James B. 'Doc' Doolittle, 80
James B. “Doc” Doolittle, 80, passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy, First Church of God, will officiate.
Doc was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Dec. 19, 1927, and graduated from Hemet High School in Hemet, Calif.
Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving until 1954. After leaving the Air Force he continued his close association with the military throughout his career, first as a technical representative and later with U.S. civil service retiring in 1986.
Doc treasured all his many life-lasting friends that he made throughout his career.
Doc married Jeri Lyons of Markleeville, Calif., in 1950. After 57 years of married life, slightly haggard but still smiling, they moved to Clark Fork, Idaho, in 1997.
Doc was an avid hunter and fisherman and shared many special memories with his closest friends.
Doc is survived by his wife Jeri; son-in-law Pat Whelan (and Becky); daughter Suzanne; son David; grandchildren Heather (and Shaun) Fugate, Jamie (and Kelly) Goodman and Jay Barrera; great-grandchildren Cain, Evan, Angelina Grace and Kathy Lynn; and his beloved Yorky, Woofy. He also is survived by a large and loving extended family. We will never forget.
Family and friends are invited to sign “Doc's” online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
