Johnny L. McLeroy, 57

Johnny L. McLeroy, 57, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 21, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McLeroy; mother Juanita Lester; brothers, Tommy, Danny and Donny McLeroy; son, Teddy McLeroy; daughters, Kris Sparks, Michelle Ramirez and Ana McLeroy; granddaughters, Vicky and Emily; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnny moved to the beautiful Northwest with his loving wife in December 1995, having retired from managing a race horse ranch in East Texas. Many relatives quickly followed having heard the wonderful stories from “Paw Paw” in pursuit of the peaceful serenity that captured his heart.

His laid-back, jolly and compassionate demeanor made him a friend in his community and neighborhood, but his loving, patient and gentle nature made him “Sweetheart,” “Daddy” and “Paw Paw.”

May we all be blessed to love and be loved so much.

A celebration of Johnny's life will be held at a date to be announced.

Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River is in charge of services.
