PSB inks lease for new parking site
SANDPOINT - Panhandle State Bank has completed a lease on property at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Oak Street on Thursday.
The property will eventually be used for parking in connection with the nearly-completed Sandpoint Center. It currently houses a residence, Babs' Pizzeria and Cricket Original BBQ House,
No changes to the property will be made until the fall, said Panhandle State Bank vice president Travis Kaul.
Kaul said the bank plans to work with the city on a parking study to evaluate the level of need in the area before making any decisions about specific structural changes to the property.
Due to be completed and occupied later this year, the $14 million, 94,000-square-foot Sandpoint Center will require an untold amount of new parking space, and Kaul said the bank is doing everything it can to meet the needs of customers and future tenants of the center.
PSB has already added one parking lot on property the bank owns at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Pine Street and developed two additional lots in cooperation with city.
