Jack R. Armstrong, 91

Jack R. Armstrong, 91, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Viewing for friends and family will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at the Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 7th at the Lakeview Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Johnson of the New Song Bible Church officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery. There will be a gathering at the Lakeview Funeral Home reception area following the services.

Jack was born in Wichita, Kan., on Dec. 10, 1916, to Ralph and Sophronia Armstrong. He graduated from East High School in Wichita and went on to pursue a life long career in the dental laboratory profession.

Jack married Sarah Wiant on Oct. 21, 1972, in Wichita. The couple retired in 1984 and moved to Sandpoint to be closer to family and to help build the log church which is now the New Song Bible Church in Sagle. Jack worked part time for the Forest Service building roads and trails. He then spent eight years doing maintenance work on the old and new day lodges at Schweitzer Mountain Resort.

He enjoyed fishing, and building model airplanes. He loved his family and especially all of his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and everyone who new him loved him and he loved them. He will be sorely missed by his dog, of ten years "Sissy."

He is survived by his wife of 35 beautiful years, Sarah Armstrong of Sandpoint; a son, Bill (Barbara) Armstrong of Rancho Murieta, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Connie Watson of Sandpoint and Crista Bushell of Sandpoint; a sister, Nancy (Pete) Petrie of Aurora, Calif.; four grandsons, Keith Armstrong of Wichita, Kan., Gary (Teresa) Blankenship of Sandpoint, Tim (Jeannie) Blankenship of Sandpoint and Tre (Nicole) Bushell of Sandpoint; a granddaughter, Chelsea (Luis) Tovar of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and three great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Armstrong; and a sister-in-law, Bobbi Armstrong.
