Another year, another session.
Monday, the Idaho Legislature kicked off what they hoped will be a quick, yet productive, session.
With everything from teacher pay to grocery tax relief to highway funding, it could be an interesting session.
As voters, we have an obligation to keep in touch with our state's political leaders. They work for us and what kind of a boss would we be if we did not give them direction and feedback — if we didn't tell them what our expectations are?
Sen. Shawn Keough, R- Sandpoint; Sen. Joyce Broadsword, R-Cocolalla; Rep. George Eskridge, R-Dover; and Rep. Eric Anderson, R-Priest Lake; are a dedicate group of legislators. Idaho's legislators can't rely on their state salary to pay the bills — instead they take a break from their regular jobs to head down to Boise each January to take care of the state's business.
We owe it to them — and more importantly, we owe it to ourselves — to tell them what we expect and then to hold them accountable.
Want to get a hold of our legislators — and, trust me, they want to hear from you, here's the 411 on how to reach them:
