Honor means a lot to Kinderhaven 'Angel'

| January 7, 2008 8:00 PM

I would like to say thank you for the honor of "Angel of the Year" bestowed upon me and my family by the Kinderhaven board and staff. I am proud to be associated with this outstanding organization that provides a safe haven for children in crisis. There are many people in this community who have made various types of contributions to Kinderhaven, but few who match what Marsha Ogilvie and Barb Perusse have given over the years. Their endless dedication is an inspiration and gift to these children in need. I thank them and all who are associated with Kinderhaven for their dedication and passion.

I would like to clarify that the money we donated to Kinderhaven was for the down payment on their current home. It was not to pay off the existing mortgage as stated in the newspaper. Kinderhaven is still very much in need of financial support. The people of this community never cease to amaze me with their generosity. It is for the children who are in crisis that I ask for your continued commitment so that they may have a safe place to go when in need.

Once again, I am so appreciative of this recognition. I give a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Kinderhaven.
