Evelyn D. Raikes, 91

Evelyn D. Raikes, 91, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

At her request no services will be held, cremation arrangements have been made at Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sandpoint.

Evelyn was born Aug. 11, 1916, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Gary and Isabelle Davis.

She married William W. Raikes on Nov. 24, 1938,in Los Angeles, Calif. She spent her life in contracting and real estate development in California. The couple moved to Sandpoint in July 2003 to be closer to their family.

Evelyn had a great mind, and her passion in life was finance and investing. She also enjoyed playing bridge.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Raikes of Sandpoint; three daughters, Barbara Raikes and husband Wayne of Sagle, Suzie Ross of Sandpoint, and Patty (Dan) McLaughlin of Hope, Idaho; four sons, Bill Raikes of Lake Tahoe, Nev., John (Nina) Raikes of Albuquerque, N.M., Terry (Luann) Raikes of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Ken (Hiroko) Raikes of Denver, Colo.; four brothers, Gary, George, Bert and Paul; and 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
