Nancy (Lee) Chamberlain, 73

Nancy (Lee) Chamberlain, 73, passed away January 11, at the Newport Community Hospital with family by her side.

She was born June 26, 1934 in Spokane Washington to Roy Edward and Elizabeth Drinkwater Lee. She had two older brothers, Robert and John Lee. At the age of l6, Nancy graduated from Lindberg High School in Spokane, and began a long career in bookkeeping. In August of 1954, she married Charles Jydstrup and began her family.

They lived in various places in Washington and Montana throughout their marriage, and finally settled in Sandpoint, Idaho. After 24 years of marriage, they were divorced, and Nancy continued to live in her beloved Sandpoint home.

In 1987, she met and married Roy Chamberlain. They enjoyed 13 years of adventure, traveling, camping and fishing. Roy passed away from a stroke in December of 2000. In October of 2007, Nancy moved to Newport, where she enjoyed her last months with her new friends at River Mountain Village.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Elizabeth Lee, her brothers, Robert and John Lee, and her first and second husbands, Charles Jydstrup and Roy Chamberlain. She is survived by her three children, Randy Jydstrup of Ashland Oregon, Dave (and Sue) Jydstrup of Spokane and Nancy (and Steve) Davis of Ione, Washington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Nancy loved gardening, canning, baking and entertaining. She also loved camping and fishing. Her family and friends will always remember the amazing holiday dinners and summer gatherings at her home. There was an abundance of love and laughter in those precious times.

There are plans for a memorial service this spring. All friends and loved ones will be notified of the date and time.
