Sound out against 'frivolous lawsuits'

| January 19, 2008 8:00 PM

The people of Sandpoint have been listening to the ranting of NICAN for too long.

Not only do we have to pay for the bypass with our taxes but we now have to pay for their frivolous lawsuits. I have yet to here which one of their members is willing to visit the homes which will be destroyed by an alternate route and tell the owners that "This is for the good of Sandpoint."

All I hear is talk. If they have money to sue, why don't they survey their "alternate route" and show the people that it is viable.

They say that the present route will be obsolete in a few years but they seem to be unaware that that is true of most big projects.

The space shuttle was obsolete when it was first launched.

A recent article spells out NICAN's real concern — 200 people in a town of 10,000 are concerned that they might lose a buck! I guess they think tourists come here to see pig trucks.

How about if the 9,800 other people ask the Bee to publish a list of those businesses and we can show them how much money they will lose if they continue to spend our tax dollars foolishly?
