Marie Jean Goll, 98, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008.

Marie was born on Sept. 28, 1909, in Union Hill, N.J., where she was raised in a family of 13. She attended school in New York and later worked as an interior decorator for Francis Roger and Sons in New York.
On June 30, 1930, in the Bronx, N.Y., she married Earl M. Goll, C.W.O. with the U.S. Navy. Her husband was called to active duty and she spent her honeymoon alone, on a cruise into the Panama Canal, seeing Havana, Cuba, and returning to New York.
He served with the Navy for 22 years and they lived in San Diego and Chula Vista, Calif., for 52 years. She worked as a nurse, and purchasing agent for the Community Hospital in Chula Vista, Calif., retiring in 1975. In 1984 she moved to East Hope, Idaho, for a year and in 1985 moved to Laclede, Idaho.
She was a lifetime member of the Community Hospital Auxiliary, and member, for the 4th Fighter Command Service Corps during World War II.
She was a longtime member of the Laclede Community Church.
Her son Ronald E. Goll of Reno, Nev.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren survive her.
Her parents, her husband, Earl; a daughter, a grandson, three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
