Morna (Nokelby) Daleen, 80
Morna (Nokelby) Daleen, 80, formerly of East Grand Forks, Minn., passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2008, in Sandpoint, Idaho, where she has resided the past 10 years.
Memorial services will be held at The First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint, at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, with Pastor Dave Olson officiating.
Morna was born on March 29, 1927, the daughter of Melvin and Gertrude (Nesland) Nokelby in Grand Forks, N.D..
She graduated from Central High School in East Grand Forks, and also attended the University of North Dakota. Upon leaving the university, she worked in Yellowstone National Park, was a flight attendant for Capitol Airlines and also worked at the Pentagon.
She met her former husband, Donald Daleen, who was in the military at the time and they married on Dec. 18, 1953. After returning to East Grand Forks, Morna worked at T' n T' Outfitters in East Grand Forks for a number of years.
Survivors include her daughter, Heather (Daleen) Guthrie of Sandpoint; a brother, Gary (JoAnne) Nokelby of East Grand Forks; a sister, Judy (Herb) Schoelkopf of Ocean City, Md.; a sister-in-law, Bernice Nokelby of East Grand Forks; grandchildren, John, Isabelle and Olivia of Sandpoint; and her former husband, Donald Daleen of St. Simons Island, Ga. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and abrother, Rodney "Bud" Nokelby.
