William was born July 3, 1944, in Stockton, Calif., the son of Ralph and Minnie Boyd. He was raised in California. When he was 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1961-1965 and spent a tour of duty in Vietnam, receiving two purple hearts.

Mr. Boyd was a skilled diesel mechanic. He enjoyed a party and, since his birthday was on July 3, they would celebrate on the Fourth with a fifth. He enjoyed hunting, camping, riding four-wheelers, and all outdoor activities. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Michele R. Boyd was born in Ft. Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 14, 1943, the daughter of Allen and Vera Michael. She grew up in a military family, traveling and attending schools worldwide. She graduated from high school in Manteca, Calif., in 1961.

She lived in Tracy, Calif., working in the defense depot in Tracy until her retirement in 1993. She also worked, as a secretary, for Mountain Sky Publishing and as a bartender for the Sandpoint Eagles.

On July 15, 1978, William Boyd and Michele Michael were married in California. On July 15, 2008, they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage. They moved to Cocolalla, Idaho, in 1996. They found great pleasure in spending time with their children and grandchildren.

William and Michele are survived by two children, Brooke (and Dayle) Westra of Priest River and Clint Boyd of Cocolalla; and three grandchildren, Megan, Michael, and William.

William is also survived by his mother, Minnie Boyd of Manteaca, Calif.; two brothers, Tom (and Patsy) of Tracy and Don (and Terry) of Wyoming; and two sisters, Jeantte Boyd and Mary and (Steve) Alexander, both of Manteaca, Calif. His father and a sister preceded him in death.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents.

They were loved by many and will be deeply missed.
