Stephen Homer Meyer, 55, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Wednesday, July 2, 2008.

Graveside services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Pastor Ron Houghtaling, Dover Baptist Church, will officiate.

Stephen was born in Bakersfield, Calif., on Feb. 21, 1953, the son of Homer and Barbara Meyer. He attended school in Bakersfield, later going to work for Nortel, a telecommunications company. He was and electronics technician (practical engineer) and his job took him to different work sites throughout the United States. He took an early retirement, due to a disability, in 2000.

He moved to Hope in 1998 and then to Sandpoint in 2002. He enjoyed his passion for computers and electronics.

He is survived by his mother Barbara Meyer of Bakersfield, Calif.; five children, Paul Meyer of Oregon, Scottie Meyer of Virginia, Bruce Meyer of California, Anthony Meyer of Virginia and Priscilla (Meyer) Davis in Idaho; a sister, Sharon Lincks in Idaho; two brothers, Jeff Meyer in California and David Meyer in Colorado; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer; and a daughter, Tye Meyer.
