Notice is hereby given that the Sandpoint City Council will hold a public hearing at their regular meeting on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 1123 Lake Street, Sandpoint, ID, to consider the following:
1. VAC08-01- A request by Donald J. and Kim Cox to vacate an east-west portion of right-of-way formerly known as Old county road, Airport Road, and Elsasser Road, as well as an unnamed north-south right-of-way, located east of Great Northern Road, west of the Sandpoint Airport, and north of Baldy Road. These 25-foot wide rights-of-way were platted as running along a portion of the east boundary line of Block 15, all of the east boundary line of Block 16, and the north and east boundary lines of Block 17, of the plat of West Sandpoint, located in the NE 1 / 4 of Section 16, Township 57 North, Range 2 W.B.M.
2. VAC08-02 – A request by Bob Aavedal to vacate an undeveloped portion of right-of-way west of its intersection with Baldy Park Drive. The 60-foot right of-way is located north of Baldy Road and is located between Lots 1 and 2 of the Baldy Park subdivision in Section 15, Township 57 North, Range 2 W.B.M.

A public oral auction will be conducted at the Idaho Department of Lands office, 2550 Highway 2 West, Sandpoint, ID 83864, at 9:00 a.m. local time, on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, for an estimated 420 MBF and 166,630 LF of timer, marked or otherwise designated for cutting. In addition, there is an unestimated volume of pulplogs that may be removed at the option of the purchaser. Prior to bidding, eligible bidders shall present a certified check or bank draft payable to the Treasurer, State of Idaho, or a bid bond acceptable to the State, in the amount of $85,181.14 which is 10% of the appraised net sale value of $851,811.45. The average minimum bid price is $560.70 per MBF and $4.26 per LF. The successful bidder’s deposit will be forfeited to the state should the bidder fail to complete the contract. The state will not accept bids from the parties who are delinquent on payments on existing state contracts.
The sale is located within Sections 16 and 20, Township 56N, Range 4W, B.M., Bonner County, State of Idaho. Sale duration is 2 years. The sale may include blowdown and/ or insect and disease infected timber which may result in additional volume and recovery reductions.
