What's the motivation behind what you hear?

I keep seeing that some think voters should have the final say in whether or not the county builds new facilities to house its lawbreakers.

Seems most agree a new juvenile detention is needed. A new work release center for the jail is questionable.

If you haven't noticed our neck of the woods is growing faster than milfoil. We need to keep up by providing an infrastructure that meets the needs of our growing community.

Thirty years, or so, ago we had federal judges telling us to build a new jail, and, for 20, it did not get done. Citizens had to have their say. They built a jail that is too small, and is unsafe for both deputy and prisoner alike.

I hear it was in the 1950s that a bypass plan originated. I wonder what the cost was, and how loud the opposition then would be if they heard today's cost.

I already voted, I voted for commissioners who could make decisions and not waste my tax dollars. I believe the commissioners we have seated are the best we've had in many years. I trust them in this as I do with the “smaller issues” they deal with as our elected decision makers. I am glad that our officials came up with a plan that doesn't put additional tax burden on me and my neighbors.

Political banter in north Idaho is no different than anywhere. What's the motive behind what you are hearing?
