She married Robert Ross on June 16, 1962, in Kellogg. The couple moved to San Francisco for a year and then to Boise where they had two daughters. The family settled in Missoula, Mont. The marriage ended in divorce in 1983.

Family and friends were the most important thing in Cathy's life. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with her big brother John and his family. She enjoyed cross stitch, her kitties, and quilting with local friends and friends from Seattle, and she enjoyed quilting retreats to Poulsbo. Cathy was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and Martha Chapter #34 O.E.S., where she served as Worthy Matron twice and was a key active member. This past three years she has participated in the 'Relay for Life.'
