Before we actually build the Sand Creek Bypass, I implore you to review this extensive and comprehensive study on carbon monoxide poisoning and contemplate the possible effects on Sandpoint City Beach.
It appears the measurable footprint of exposure is approximately 1,500 feet from the source. Perhaps farther downwind. The demonstrated most dangerous source is heavy trucks.
The most susceptible to this type of poisoning is pregnant women, fetuses, young children, and older adults with breathing disorders. Young children lying on the beach for long periods of time could be endangered.
