Don, Tammy Hicks win Jacey's Race

SANDPOINT —  Cocolalla’s Don Hicks (18.21) and Tammy Hicks (21.17) won the men’s and women’s 5K races as part of the recent Jacey’s Race 2008 at Sandpoint High School.

Don Hicks was followed by Hal Schmidt of Sandpoint at 19:18, and Jeromy Scheel of Bayview at 19:34. Scheel is the father of Gavin Scheel, 2, one of the two beneficiaries of the race. Sandpoint High senior Megan Bartlett finished four seconds behind Tammy Hicks in the women’s race, followed 30 seconds later by Bonners Ferry’s Cindy Ryan.

Other age group winners (m/f) were:

n 9 and under — Jack Rinck (30.0) and Tessa Beeman (47.59).

n 10-14 —Jake Diel (23.23) and Mercedes McComb (26.56).

n 15-19 — Daniel Pfeifer (19.38) and Molly Burgstahler (24.06).

n 20-29 — Alan Lies (20.28) and Kate Neu (22.46).

n 30-39 — Andy Groat (20.12) and Nicole Gamble (23.06).

n 40-49 — Steve Lunde (21.43) and Cindy Griesemer (26.39).

n 50-59 — Greg Block (27.46) and Dodi Sykes (30.45).

n 60-69 — Marty Stitsel (26.0) and Kathy Gavin (39.30).

n 70 and over — Dick Foster (46.16) and Joan Chinelli (51.15).

The 1K race was a non timed fun-run.
