SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Soccer Association Director Ben Twigg tendered his resignation on Monday after two years of stewarding the thriving youth soccer programs.
SSA president John Rinck said the resignation came as a bit of a surprise to most involved, and didn’t know of any reasons as to why Twigg stepped down. There is no set timetable to name a new director, but Rinck believes the programs can remain stable in the interim.
The next SSA director will be the sixth since 2000 in a city renowned for both its soccer success and passion.
Twigg, who held a similar position in Moscow before taking the job in Sandpoint, was unavailable for comment.
