Creative thinking, re-use of items needed

| June 9, 2008 9:00 PM

The recycling article stimulated much thought for me. Thank you for writing it David. I have been wondering where all our items go.

It makes me begin to feel creative about re-using my items. All those boxes and papers could go into making my garden weed free as mulching assistance. The plastic bags, if I forget my cloth shopping bag - Safeway collects and gives to organizations who need them, like the food bank. I even collect and return all my plastic newspaper bags to the Daily Bee. I'm grateful they take them and reuse them. Plastic is a big problem for the environment as well as our personal health; I try to avoid having to much of that around in the first place.

Glass… hmmm , could be used for storing all my dry goods in; would love to hear other ideas on that one.

Also got me thinking how many local business ideas could come out of a response to recycling needs. Lets put on our combined thinking caps and start identifying the needs and opportunities.
