James 'Jimmy' Edmund Bruce IV, 29

James "Jimmy" Edmund Bruce IV, 29, went to a higher place on Thursday, June 12, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jimmy was born on October 20, 1978 in Shelbyville, Tenn. to James Edmund Bruce III and Beth Thompson Bruce. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and the University of Nevada, Reno. Jimmy's great love was his family, his friends and snowboarding and surfing.

He was a wonderful, enthusiastic, giving and joyous person. Jimmy was a fantastic uncle to his nephews. He had the gift of cheerfulness that he freely shared with everyone.

Jimmy is survived by his father, Bruce of Rigby, Idaho, his mother, Beth Bruce of Salt Lake City, his sister and brother-in-law Heather and Cazzie Brown, his brother David Bruce and his two beloved nephews Bishop and Judge, all of Salt Lake City.

He is also survived by the love of his life, Shira Garfinkel of Redondo Beach, Calif. and his maternal grandmother Helen Thompson of Sandpoint, Idaho, and his paternal grandfather James E. Bruce, Jr. of Boise, Idaho, and many aunts and uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and his paternal grandmother.

A celebration of Jimmy's Life will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 777 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City.

A viewing will be held beginning at 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

Cremation will follow the service and Jimmy will be returned to the mountains and lakes he loved.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jimmy Bruce Memorial Fund and may be left with the funeral home attendants at the service or mailed to First Baptist Church, 777 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84102. Funeral directors, Evans and Early Mortuary.
