Margaret Edith Skaar of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on June 9, 2008, at 85.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m, Monday, June 23 at the Luther life Center on The Beatitudes campus at 1610 West Glendale Avenue, Phoenix, Ariz. 85021.

Peggy, the eldest of four children, was born on Nov. 24, 1922, in Santa Monica, Calif.

Peggy was widowed twice. She and her first husband Master Sergeant Leland G. Jeffries enjoyed a wonderful life as a career Army family. They saw the world and raised four children.

Peggy and her second husband James Skaar enjoyed a 25-year love affair and retirement. Peggy's family was foremost, however she found great joy working for the federal government and retired after 25 years of service. Peggy is survived by her sister Florence Huber of Springfield, Va; brother William Wright of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; her children James Jeffries of Phoenix, Mike Jeffries of Sonoma, Calif., Bill Jeffries of Plainfield, Ill., and Carolyn Meyer of Sausalito, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
