School open house July 5

| June 14, 2008 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT - Anyone who has yet to explore the nooks and crannies of the remodeled former Ninth Grade Center will have the opportunity to do so soon.

The opening ceremony at the old Sandpoint high school (now the Sandpoint Events Center) on Euclid will be at 1:30 p.m. July 5.

The building is now owned Brad and Lynda Scott. July's event will include a laying of the corner stone. After the ceremony, people can give themselves a self-guided tour of the building. Volunteers will be stationed in various parts of the school to answer questions.

Old photographs of the school's classes now line the hallways.

A book compiled by Bob Gunter for the Scotts, “Sandpoint School Days - A Photographic Homecoming,” will be available on the second floor from 2:30 to 3 p.m. and from 4:15 to 5 p.m.

At 7 p.m.. Kenny and the Cruisers will perform in the gym for a free sock hop. The family event will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight. Kenny is from Sandpoint.
