Sandpoint Shootout is a success

SANDPOINT — 27 teams competed Saturday in the Sandpoint Shootout 3-on-3 basketball tournament at SHS. While there were 10 team winners (see below), the real winners were all of the athletes at SMS and SHS. All of the proceeds raised by Bulldog Bench, which put on the event, are filtered back into the local athletic program’s budgets.

Girls winners

9th-12th grade — SHS volleyball team.

4th-6th grade — Air Balls: Hailey Olin, Molly Steilen, Kara Bruce and Lexi DeMers.

2nd-3rd grade — Geckos: Laney Search, Taylor Ward, Tanna Kirk.

Boys winners

9th-12th grade — SHS boys basketball team.

7th grade — Hicks from the Sticks: R.C. Akre, Cameron Riley, Dalton Sommer and Dakota Adamson.

6th grade — Athletes Foot: Matt Burgstahler, Hunter King, Zach Couch and Jobe Logan.

4th-5th — Team Kuzmich: Dylan Kuzmich, Taylor LaChapelle, Tony Sekona and Connor VanDenBerg.

Coed winners

4th-6th — Sagle: Kennedy Search, Mey Parsley, Jared Presnell and Collin Jurenka.

2nd-3rd — Strikers: Landin Filippini, Jack Rinck, Logan Temple and Patrick Rockwell.
