Host of Sharks swim strong at Solstace Meet

SPOKANE - Keeley Pearlstein, Jenna Price and Zak Roundy each grabbed top 10 finishes as the Sandpoint West Sharks swim team had a solid meet last weekend at the Summer Solstace Meet in Spokane.

Head coach Mike Brosnahan was pleased with his team's performance, noting most of his swimmers dropped time in the majority of events. He also said Pearlstein had a great meet, as she finished 7th in the 200 backstroke and 8th in the 100 backstroke in the 13-14 year-old girls division. She also finished 17th in the 100 free and 200 breaststroke, and 11th in the 100 fly against a strong field of swimmers.

Roundy finished 9th in the 200 fly, 13th in the 50 backstroke, 14th in the 400 free, 15th in the 100 fly and 16th in the 100 backstroke of the boys 13-14 year-old division. Samantha Trulock was 12th in the 400 free, 15th in the 200 backstroke and 19th in the 100 backstroke in the 15 and over girls division.

Logan Sanborn was 12th in the 50 fly and 14th in the 50 backstroke in the girls 8 and under division, Price was 9th in the girls 9-10 year-old 50 breaststroke, and Catherine Brenner was 17th in the 8 and under 50 breaststroke to round out the top 20 finishers.
