Motorcyclists strike deer

CLARK FORK — Two people were injured Sunday after the motorcycle they were on struck a deer on Highway 200 near Denton Slough.

Idaho State Police said Dennis R. Brown and Susan M. Warren were westbound when their 1976 Honda motorcycle hit a deer. The two were thrown from the bike and landed in the ditch.

The crash happened at about 7 p.m.

Neither Brown, a 58-year-old Kootenai resident, nor Warren, a 51-year-old from Ponderay, were wearing helmets, state police said. Brown was flown by MedStar to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene and Clark Fork Ambulance took Warren to Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint.

Brown’s condition on Monday was listed as fair. Warren’s condition was not available.
