Curb your dog and be a responsible owner
It's beginning to feel like spring. Awhh, the sun is out and the bike path to Dover is free of ice. I am happy to be able to walk briskly without my yak traks and look up instead of down at the ground all the time. But, wait, there are now new obstacles on the path. No, it's not the bikes, or the people, or even the dogs - it's the dog poop; piles of poop!
Every few steps to the left or right I am now looking down and watching to make sure not to step in the soft squishy goo. Now there are bags available along the path just for the purpose of quickly picking up the poop, but dog owners don't seem to want to use them. Maybe it is too disgusting a thought for them.
It's clear to me why the city continues to ban dogs in the park. Dog owners in Sandpoint don't even want to pick up after their dogs on the walking/biking trail, why would they do so in the parks.
