Getting a license may become easier

| March 10, 2008 9:00 PM

I was glad to see the article about county employees being nice to customers or loosing their jobs. In April 2006, my late husband and I moved here after living in Korea for six years. I had a valid Texas driver's license that was easy to convert into an Idaho license.

My husband, a lifelong resident of Idaho had allowed his driver's license to expire. The county employees at the Bonner County department of driver's licenses would not accept a valid U.S. passport and a valid military dependent identification card as proof of his birthday.

I wanted to complain then to the current county commissioners, but he didn't think it make a difference. We went up to Boundary County for the driver's license and there, with that sort of proof of birth date, he did not run into any problem at all.
