PONDERAY - With a seemingly endless supply of new homeowners streaming into Bonner County, there couldn't be a better time to open a home decor business.

Jaime Hawkins is banking on that assumption, and she hopes her new store, Galleria Home Decor, will become a staple business for all new homeowners.

Hawkins, who recently sold her previous business, Aspen Windows Doors & More, believes her assortment of unique paintings, statues and various decorations will help her customers design the home of their dreams.

The idea for Galleria came from Hawkins' love of interior design and what she saw as glut of sameness in local home decor stores.

“My goal was to try something new, so people didn't have to drive to Coeur d'Alene or Spokane to find things that suit their taste,” Hawkins said.

Since opening in early February, Hawkins said she has received only positive reviews from customers, and is excited for more people to see her eclectic stock of merchandise.

If a customer can't find what they're looking for, Hawkins has catalogs to browse and offers custom orders.

Located across from Wal-Mart on U.S. 95, Galleria is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
