Sandpoint claims wins over Lakeland

SANDPOINT - Sandpoint's Corey Hawkins struck out seven in Game 1, and Joel Cramer picked up the win in the second game as the Bulldogs rallied to win a pair from visiting Lakeland (7-9, 6-8 IEL) at Memorial Field.

The Hawks hit two batters and walked three in Sandpoint's nine-run sixth in the first game. Cole Tonnamacher's driver down the right field line in the second game scored two, and Tonnemacher came around to score on an overthrow to the plate to complete the comeback in the bottom of the seventh in the second game.

With the wins Sandpoint (9-8, 6-6) hosts Moscow in the first round of the 4A Region 1 tournament on Saturday. The winner will play at Lakeland on Monday.
