Carol Pedersen, 76, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Dec. 5, 2007.

Graveside memorial services will be held at noon, Saturday, June 10, in the Hope Cemetery in Hope, Idaho. Dale Coffelt will be officiating.

Carol was born in Lemon, S.D., on Sept. 26, 1931, the daughter of Anton and Lillian Kom.

She moved to the Sandpoint area, as a child, attending local schools and graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1950.

She married Richard (Dick) Pedersen on Feb. 13, 1950, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

They later moved to Hope, raising strawberries and peaches. They were known for Pedersen’s-U-Pick strawberries. She enjoyed farming and sharing a good laugh. She was a member of the Red Hats in Sandpoint and loved being “Grandma and G.G.”

Carol is survived by four children, Dale (and Ken) Alexander of Spokane Valley, Wash., Diane Brockus of Hope, Dick Pedersen of Hope, and Deana Pedersen (and husband Kerry Foresman) of Missoula, Mont.; two grandsons, Bryan (and Sandy) Brockus of Clark Fork, Idaho, and Aaron (and Robyn) Brockus of Port Angeles, Wash.; and four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lillian Harshman of Sedro Wooly, Wash., Vivian Garraughty of Lakeview, Wash., Betty Johnson of Samuels, Idaho, and Janice Palmer of Lewiston, Idaho; and two brothers George Kom of Pocatello, Idaho, and Frank Kom of Bakersfield, Calif.

Her parents and her husband Dick preceded her in death.
