Myrtle Ruth Walton, 84, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Rosary will be said Friday, May 9, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis C. Day officiating.
Myrtle was born on Jan. 20, 1924, in Omaha, Neb., to Walter and Angeline (Rice) Harding.
Her mother died soon after so Myrtle was raised by her Grandma and Grandpa Rice in Holstein, Iowa.
Myrtle married Charles M. Walton on Dec. 21, 1941, in Omaha.
Myrtle stayed at home to raise the children and take care of the home. In 1960 the family moved to Colorado and made their home in the Longmont area. She worked for many years for Stanley Home Products. After retiring, Myrtle and Charles moved to Sagle, Idaho, in 1990.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the 4-H Extension Club. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and flowers; but her greatest joy was staying active in her children and grandchildren’s lives.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Walton of Sagle, Idaho; two daughters, Louella (Kirby) Axtell of Butte, Mont., and Kathleen Lynch of Bennett, Colo.; two sons, Tom (Sharon) Walton of Sagle and Patrick Walton of Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Darlene Mercer.
