Minnick worked as Sali lunched with lobbyists

| May 12, 2008 9:00 PM

Walt Minnick, Idaho Democratic congressional candidate, is reminding voters how much more they are paying for gasoline today than they were two years ago. He sponsored a sale at a Boise gas station offering gas for $2.26 a gallon (the price when Bill Sali was elected to Congress) versus the current $3.59 price at the pump. More than 3,000 gallons were sold in one hour.

At the time of the gas sale, Sali was attending a fundraising lunch with oil lobbyists in Washington, D.C. “Idahoans are being pummeled at the pump while their congressman is hobnobbing with the very people who are getting filthy rich from gas prices,” Minnick charges.

The sorry state of the U.S. economy and the drop in wages for working class people are the result of the Bush Administration catering to big business interests and not the people who are working hard but losing their homes.

Walt Minnick stands for paying our bills, keeping the government out of our private lives, and supporting our troops by finding the right solution to the war in Iraq. We need him in Washington to help clean up this mess.
