Lightning being trampled by heavy equipment

Lightning Creek is full of heavy equipment. Spawning grounds for rainbow trout and bull trout is being trampled by this heavy equipment driving right through the river.

I checked the legality of this issue ’Ķ apparently, our¬Ýgovernor declared a¬Ý“state of emergency”¬Ýthus allowing the¬ÝArmy Corps¬Ýof Engineers to do whatever it takes to remove the debris.

¬ÝThis includes driving dump trucks and bulldozers through the river, literally destroying spawning¬Ýgrounds¬Ýfor trout and char, dumping diesel and lighting them on fire in the creek bed.

I talked to Matt Haag with Idaho Fish & Game and he put me in touch with Jim Brady¬Ýwith Idaho Department of Lands. Basically nobody can touch this issue since it is considered a¬Ýstate of emergency.

They are screwing up our natural resources, including our water quality, because the creek might flood — not because it is flooding.
