SANDPOINT — The STEP gymnastics team participated in a Cartwheel-a-thon Saturday to raise money for local cancer patients. STEP thanks all who sponsored an athlete for this event, which capped a great season.

Competitive Level 4 boys Lauran Mathews, Tyler Wiedebush and Bradley Russell started the season out in December, when they shined on all six apparatuses.

The STEP girls Prep-opt team, known for their contagious exuberance and tight form, recently capped off their competitive season with the title of Inland Northwest Champion team in both the novice and rookie divisions.

STEP team and pre-team members include: Lin and Austin Haley, Lauran and Hope Mathews, Jessica and Madison Bovee, Lily Waldrup, Bradley and Samantha Russell, Tyler Wiedebush, Savannah Snyder, Alex Stevens, Lacie Redding, Jayden Kellogg, Cecelia Gedrose, Hannah Fingel, Felice Caven, Jesica Balison, Kaya Ruddle, Paula and Michaela Sandelin, Mackenzie Packer, Aubrie Perry, Sage Jeffries and Isabella Mortensen.

STEP will perform their exciting horse vaulting and tumbling at the Bonner County Fair in August. They are enrolling now for summer classes, camps and clinics.
