Community's support is deeply gratifying

| May 21, 2008 9:00 PM

On behalf of the students, staff, and community members who make up the Lake Pend Oreille School District, I would like to offer my sincere thank you for the effort to support the plant and facility levy. Your support is deeply gratifying.

There were many individuals who freely gave time, energy, and spirit to the election. Their countless hours, focus on the issues, and belief that we could make this happen in our community has been unending. These include the Citizens for Better Schools, school levy captains, the 5 Friend Pledge Group, Citizens Facilities Advisory Committee, Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce business membership, and our board of trustees

In addition, there were many other groups and individuals who played a major role in sharing our story with their neighbors and friends. From this group, specific thanks go to Wendy Dunn, Cindy Griesemer, Brenda Woodard and Andy Chapman. Thank you also to the Bee and River Journal for reporting the facts and issues so clearly.

Our community is a dynamic place with many caring individuals. I am proud to be a part of a group of citizens interested in making our community and world a better place for children.
