Bouquet of Sweets cooks up tasty confections

SANDPOINT - A bouquet of flowers is nice, but a bouquet of candy can be even better, especially when designed by the experts at the newly-opened Bouquet of Sweets and More.
The store, which opened last week, offers a nearly-endless array of candy-filled bouquets, including a number of holiday-themed baskets.
Besides brief forays into candy making as children, owners Dawn Lee and Sonja Brisboy had no background in the art, but after several months of trial and error, the duo found they had a knack for making the confections.
When deciding what kind of business to open, Lee and Brisboy were interested in more than just profit margins, which eventually led them to starting Bouquet of Sweets.
"We like to say we're in the business of making people smile," Brisboy said.
Customer reaction to the store has been very positive so far, according to Lee, and she is confident that more and more people will discover the store as word-of-mouth spreads.
In addition to candy, the store sells coffee and will soon stock a number of dog treats.
Located at 214 Cedar St., Bouquet of Sweets is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
