Failure to stop after hitting pet was a cowardly act

Dear neighbor,
I just wanted to thank you for running over our dog. Not only did you not stop, but you left her, in the mud and rain, to die alone. This was on our road in front of our house. You knew where she lived, and yet you couldn't even be bothered to come to our door and tell us.
We were only gone 20 minutes, and came home to her dead, in the road. We have wireless collars on our dogs to keep them contained. Sometimes the battery dies, unbeknownst to us. I can only hope you never have to feel the loss we feel, and can still look at your cowardly face every day in the mirror. To those who did stop, thank you for caring.
