Frieda Opatz

Frieda Opatz, 88, a 31-year resident of Sandpoint, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Island Hospital in Anacortes, Wash.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1919, in Fresno, Calif., the daughter of Joe and Katie (Graff) Halden.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond; in April 2008. Frieda is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Dian Opatz, of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Kenneth Opatz of Seattle, Wash.

  Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, Wash., and the San Juan Islands.
