Dorothy A. (Rongren/Kilgore) Warren, 80

| November 18, 2008 8:00 PM

Dorothy A. (Rongren/Kilgore) Warren passed peacefully into our Lord's loving arms on Nov. 11, 2008 in Spokane, Wash.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

She was born to George and Catherine (Hayes) Crowell on Dec. 11, 1927, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Dorothy's life was a tapestry of beauty, grace, wisdom, and love.  Along with raising her family, "Grandma Dot" was a second-grade teacher in the Riverside School District and after retirement, volunteered hundreds of hours with the Sacred Heart Hospital Service League, Miryam's House of Transition Auxiliary, and Providence Associates.

She loved bridge and pinochle, gardening, playing the piano, knitting, and swimming at Bead Lake and Lake Pend Orielle.  Dorothy never met a stranger.  She touched the lives of more people than we could ever begin to imagine.

Her faith in the Lord Jesus was the foundation of who she was, and she was an amazing prayer warrior. Our lives have been deeply touched and her memory will live on for generations to come.   We love you, Mom.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 23 years, John H. Warren of Sagle, Idaho; children Kevin (Dianna) Kilgore of Spokane, Mary (Jack) Kivle of Spokane Valley, Wash., Kathy Kilgore of Seattle, Wash., Mike (Cathy) Kilgore of Spokane Valley, Megan (Tom) Neill of Seattle, Jeff (Julie) Kilgore of Deer Park, Wash., Jenny Kilgore Adams (Brian Lynch) of Spokane Valley, Matt Kilgore of Spokane, Connie (Walt) Strack of Spanaway, Wash., John (Kirsten) Warren Jr. of Post Falls, Idaho, Kathy (Earl) Nelson of Portland, Ore., and Ellen Schultz of Bakersfield, Calif.; and 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, Spokane, WA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Providence Associates of Mother Joseph or any charity that supports women and children in need.
